Ordered above the forecast
More was ordered than the ordering-zone baseline allows. That is not a shortage but it is a deviation, so it can be accepted with a reason as well.

Stock
A stock level is a hard figure on a date. What may be consumed is the level minus the iron stock; you spread that over the weeks yourself in the two stock rows in the grid above. A remainder is allowed and stays visible — standing stock is money.
EmergoStar's own stock and how far it reaches
Starting from the measured level, plus what is still to be received from purchase orders and minus what is still to be shipped to customers. Purchase orders and sales orders dated before the reference date that are still open are overdue: they are folded into the opening balance, because a late delivery still arrives and an unshipped order still has to go out. Inside the ordering zone the firm orders count; beyond it the forecast counts as expected demand, so you can see where the stock would run dry. The cover ends where the balance drops below the iron stock. Only EmergoStar sees this.

Time machine
Baselines are recorded when a week enters a zone, on the first Tuesday of each month. Skip a month and the ordering zone has no baseline to settle against. Use Catch up to take every missed snapshot.

Customers and forecast profile
Zone lengths in weeks and flexibility in percent. The ordering zone is always 0%: quantities there are fixed. All three checks always run. Changes are saved as soon as you press Enter or leave the field.

Articles
A predecessor makes a new article code inherit the consumption history of the code it replaces. Chains work: set 05 after 01 and 10 after 05, and 10 counts everything. Loops are refused. After adding an article, run the sales import again so its orders come in.

Iron stock
The buffer that stays put and is never consumed by the stock plan. Three separate figures: stock at the customer's own site, customer-owned stock held at EmergoStar, and EmergoStar's own buffer. The last one belongs to the article itself, so it is the same for every customer.

Imports
Drop an export here and the tool works out what it is and processes it straight away. Nothing is deleted; unknown articles are skipped and reported.

Where your PDF reports are saved
Every report is also written to this folder on the server, next to the normal download. Leave it empty for the standard folder. This setting is yours alone: every user has their own.
Real and Beta
Beta is a copy of the real database, plus an optional copy of the tool itself. Unpack a new version into the Beta folder shown below and switch to Beta: the screen then comes from there, on the Beta data. Real keeps running untouched. "Release" copies both over the real ones.
Server code in the Beta folder only takes effect after "Release" and a restart; the screen itself switches straight away.
Beta on its own port
Runs the Beta folder as a second server, with its own code and its own
database. Use this when others are working: Real keeps running on its
own port and nobody is interrupted. Copy config.py into
the Beta folder and set DB_PATH = BASE_DIR / "forecast.db"
there.
Release Beta to Real
Replaces the real database with the Beta one. A backup of the real database is made first, and afterwards you work on Real again. Type RELEASE to confirm.
Backup and maintenance
The backup is one file with everything in it, meant for restoring. The Excel export is meant for reading and sharing.
EmergoStar logo
The bundled file is named .png but is really a JPEG, so the originally transparent background turned black. Upload the real PNG here and it will be used on screen and in the PDF report.
Restart the server
Restarts the tool so that new server code takes effect. Everyone loses their screen for a few seconds and has to reload; nobody has to sign in again. Do not use this while someone else is working.
Clear test data
Removes all movement data: forecast, baselines, snapshots, orders, stock, deviations and the change log. Master data stays: customers, articles, users, permissions, groups and reason codes. Type WIPE to confirm.
Users and permissions
Everyone signs in with a password. Use "Invite" to send someone a link with which they set their own password; that also works when a password has been forgotten. Customer ES is EmergoStar itself and sees every customer.
